| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Easy to understand and to the point--and without any jargon--PRACTICAL MANAGEMENT SCIENCE uses an active-learning approach and realistic problems to help you understand and take advantage of the power of spreadsheet modeling. With real examples and problems drawn from finance, marketing, and operations research, you'll easily come to see how management science applies to your chosen profession and how you can use it on the job. The authors emphasize modeling over algebraic formulations and memorization of particular models. The CD-ROMs packaged with every new book include the following useful add-ins: the Palisade Decision Tools Suite (@RISK, StatTools, PrecisionTree, TopRank, and RISKOptimizer); Solver Table, which allows you to do sensitivity analysis; and Premium Solver for Education from Frontline Systems. All of these add-ins have been revised for Excel 2007.

came in fast and as described. new, perfectly shipped. also i was a little worried about receiving the cds also but they were included. the verifaction code was unused and everything was shrinked wrapped. all signs of the book being new
Expensive, but thorough September 20, 2008 Erica Thomas (Louisville, KY USA) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is the brand new revised 3rd edition. I didn't want to have to buy the new book, so I was a little upset to pay for full price- but it seems to be pretty thorough.
It has a lot of examples, but mechanical November 29, 2008 Gang Zhao (Boston, MA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As an instructor who uses this book to teach MBA students, I consider this as a valuable resource.
However, I am concerned that too many examples have been put together, without much intuition and insights in what justifies the models used for the simulation and how to effectively design the simulation.
As a result, student learns how to produce results for certain cases, but they don't know how to adjust it if assumptions change.
Not as advertised June 25, 2010 JBlaze 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was sold a book in new condition with CD-ROM; however, a used one was sent/received and without the CD-ROM. After some emails with the Seller (wasabi1031) I was able to receive the CD-ROM a few weeks after the book. However, the book was not replaced nor was I compensated for receiving a less valuable book. I would not buy from this Seller (wasabi1031) again or recommend anyone else to this Seller (wasabi1031).
